Auburn Tigers Add Linebacker Edge von Brandt to Program

The Auburn Tigers have added linebacker Edge von Brandt to their program, as announced on Monday.

What happened?

Edge von Brandt, the older brother of 2027 commit Layton von Brandt, has committed to the Auburn Tigers.

He will join the program this season, bringing experience from his time at Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Delaware.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound linebacker had two offers, from Maine and Delaware State, before choosing the Tigers.

Why it matters for Auburn Tigers

The addition of Edge von Brandt strengthens the Tigers' linebacker corps, which already includes four-star Shadarius Toodle and three-star Adam Balogoun-Ali.

Edge von Brandt finished with over 400 tackles as an outside linebacker for Appoquinimink and has experience at running back and wide receiver.

What comes next?

Edge von Brandt will likely enter the program as a walk-on next season, although this is yet to be confirmed.

He will have the opportunity to learn from defensive coordinator DJ Durkin and play behind experienced linebackers like Xavier Atkins.

The Tigers' class of 2026 now has 22 players, with Edge von Brandt being the third linebacker to join the program.

Edge von Brandt's commitment was first reported by Auburn Anytime, and he shared photos of himself in his new uniform on social media.

Layton von Brandt, a four-star offensive lineman, committed to the Tigers in May, despite interest from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The von Brandt brothers will now have the chance to play together for the Auburn Tigers in the next two seasons.
