Auburn Tigers have made a significant addition to their 2027 recruiting class by securing a commitment from four-star edge rusher Rion Jackson. Jackson, who hails from Annapolis High School in Maryland, announced his decision during a livestream on the Rivals YouTube channel. He chose Auburn over Virginia Tech after visiting the campus on May 29, 2026. Ranked as the No. 371 overall player and the 33rd-best edge rusher by 247Sports, Jackson brings impressive stats from his junior season, including 62 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks. His commitment marks the eighth for Auburn since the start of the summer official visits. Jackson joins a growing pipeline from the DMV area to Auburn, facilitated by defensive coordinator DJ Durkin. He will join fellow Maryland natives already on the roster, enhancing the Tigers' defensive lineup for the upcoming seasons.
