Auburn Tigers will kick off SEC play on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. against Florida Gators in Jordan Hare Stadium with a revamped offense under first-year coordinator Joel Gordon.
Auburn Tigers enter 2026 with 10 transfers on offense and a new starting quarterback. Byrum Brown, the USF transfer, takes snaps after throwing for 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2025. Brown also ran for 1,008 yards and 14 scores last season, giving Auburn a dual-threat option at QB.
The Tigers’ projected starting lineup leans heavily on transfers. Wideout Keshaun Singleton and running back Jeremiah Cobb both arrive from USF. Singleton led USF in receiving with 877 yards in 2025, while Cobb carried for 969 yards and five touchdowns. Gordon’s offense will rely on that familiarity to smooth Brown’s transition.
Auburn Tigers defense blends returnees with portal additions. Redshirt sophomore linebacker Xavier Atkins led Auburn in 2025 with 84 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks and two forced fumbles. The secondary features redshirt senior Rayshawn Pleasant and senior transfer Andre Jordan Jr. as key pieces.
Auburn Tigers host Baylor Bears on Sept. 5 in their opener. The Gators visit Jordan Hare Stadium two weeks later on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. for the Tigers’ first SEC game. Betting lines for the Gators tilt are still to be determined.
